Nottingham Writers Day, Saturday 14th June, The Old Ship Inn, Lowdham
Local literature lovers are looking forward to a day filled with readings by local writers at Lowdham, including award winning authors from Nottingham Writers Studio, on Saturday 14th June.
Nottingham Writers Day will take place at the Old Ship Inn, Lowdham from 11am until late, featuring local writing groups and members of Nottingham Writers Studio, including authors Michael Smith, Roberta Dewa and Megan Taylor who will read at 5pm. Books will also be available from the festival bookstall.
The event is part of Lowdham Book Festival, now in its fifteenth year, which culminates in nine days of literature events from 20th to 29th June. Waged admission is £2, with profits going to the Old Ship’s charity.
Nottingham Writers Studio Development Director, Pippa Hennessy said ‘We’ve had a strong involvement with Lowdham Book Festival for many years now – this day will be a fantastic showcase for the quality and diversity of writing coming out of Nottingham Writers Studio and the city as a whole.’

Its membership includes established and developing novelists, poets, scriptwriters, journalists, graphic novelists, songwriters, bloggers, playwrights and publishers.
