I’m delighted to welcome Debbie to the NWS as
my new minion our new marketing assistant. She’s here on a student placement, and I have the great pleasure of not only working with her at the Studio but also being a fellow student on the same course.
Here she is, introducing herself in her own words.
My name is Debbie Moss and I am undertaking a postgraduate student placement funded by Nottingham University and the ERDF. I am presently studying for an MA in Creative Writing at Nottingham University. Previous to this I was a Subject Course Leader on the PGCE course at Keele University, and before that I was a teacher.
I have lived in East Bridgford, a small village just outside Nottingham, for fifteen years, and before that lived in London. My background is in geography education but I also have a keen interest in history. I was awarded a Fellowship in Holocaust Education in 2009 by the Imperial War Museum and Institute of Education in London relating to a a project I developed from research carried out by congregants in Nottingham Progressive Jewish Congregation about one of their Torah scrolls. I am hoping that my MA in Creative Writing will support me in this work.
I am looking forward to working alongside Pippa to support her and working on your behalf to help implement the exciting plans put forward in the NWS Audience Development and Marketing Plan. A key area of my work will relate to raising the profile of the NWS so that it reaches a wider audience. I hope to support increased membership, obtain sponsorship and further strengthen local partnerships. All these activities will help contribute towards the longer-term sustainability of the Studio. I look forward to working with you over the next year and meeting many of you at forthcoming events.
