Home and Away: Poetry with Jo Bell and Angela France
September 21, 2014 @ 10:00 am - 5:00 pm£50 - £75
Angela France has deep familial roots in the soil of Gloucestershire, whilst Jo Bell’s work and her narrow boat have taken her from one place to another. These two experienced poets address the themes of Home – as a place, an idea, an essential part of identity – and Away, through journeys and vehicles and absences. Join us for a challenging and rewarding day of poetry writing, in which we encourage you to write your very best.
Jo Bell builds poetry projects across the UK, including the cult poetry group 52. She is the Poetry Society’s Canal Laureate. Widely published and twice nominated for the Ted Hughes award, she won the Charles Causley Prize in 2013. Her new collection Kith will be out in spring 2015 with Nine Arches Press.
Angela France has had poems published in many of the leading journals and has been anthologised a number of times. Her publications include Occupation (Ragged Raven Press, 2009), Lessons in Mallemaroking (Nine Arches Press, 2011) and Hide (Nine Arches Press 2013).
