Finances and Freelancing workshop

This workshop will demystify the financial processes of the freelancer, suitable for all self-employed creatives and small business owners.
Gail Mitchell is a writer and qualified accountant, she’ll be talking about her work as a freelance author, as well as discussing the process of registering as self employed with HMRC, setting up as a freelance writer/artist, covering topics such as invoicing, planning, basic bookkeeping, and submitting tax returns. She will answer your questions, also be available for 1:1 questions at the end of the session.

Gail has worked for major accountancy firms and community accounting practices, during which time she worked with many arts and community organisations including Mouthy Poets.

As part of our commitment to Arts Council England, Mouthy Poets’ pledged to deliver a series of workshops which would be open to the public, and would address some of the issues and topics that we experienced throughout the life of our organisation.
